Women's Basketball Dominates Penn State Mont Alto, 99-55

MONT ALTO, PA (January 13, 2016) - Five players scored in double digits to help propel Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball past Penn State Mont Alto, 99-55, Tuesday Night in Mont Alto. With the win, Lehigh Valley improves to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in PSUAC play.

Lehigh Valley was paced by sophomore Hannah Bankes, who had a game-high 23 points including 5-14 from three point range.  Sophomore Andrea Watkins recorded 19 points, 7 assists, 5 steals. Junior Ashley Gordon contributed 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists.  Junior Nikita Brady recorded 17 points and 4 assists in her season debut for Lehigh Valley. Sophomore Kereece Seuren chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds. 

The first quarter saw 5 lead changes until Lehigh Valley went on a run to end the quarter leading 23-12.  Lehigh Valley would not look back the rest of the half, leading 48-29 at intermission. Mont Alto cut the lead to 13 in the 3rd quarter but Lehigh Valley would quiet that run, shooting 66% from the three. Mont Alto was paced by Alexis Small with 12 points.

Lehigh Valley will return to PSUAC action this Friday night against Penn State Scranton, part of a women's & men's doubleheader. With the women playing at 6 PM followed by the men at 8 PM. Both games will be played at Cedar Crest College.
