Women's Volleyball Sweeps LCCC Tri-Match

SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (Sept. 10) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Volleyball team picked up their first two wins of the season as they swept non-conference opponents, Community College of Philadelphia, 3-0 and host Lehigh Carbon Community College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in Schnecksville.

In the first match-up against the Community College of Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley came out on fire winning set 1, 25-6, set 2, 25-7 and set 3, 25-7.  The freshman duo of Ebony Sanders and Shellbie Yard contributed 5 kills a piece. Yard lead the Lions with 10 assists and junior Cricket Lennon chipped in with 7 assists. 

In the final match-up of the day, Lehigh Valley continued their dominance beating LCCC 25-7, 25-15 and 25-15 to sweep the tri-match improving to 2-1 on the season. Sanders recorded a game-high 12 kills and Yard chipped in with 15 assists.

Lehigh Valley will begin their PSUAC conference schedule this Saturday when they travel to PSU Brandywine for a tri-match at 2 and 4 PM.
