Volleyball Comes Up Short In Season Opener At Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, PA (Sept. 1, 2016) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Volleyball team took host Cedar Crest College to five sets but came up short on opening night of the 2016 season. Lehigh Valley won the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-18 but the Falcons would charge back winning the final three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 15-10.

Lehigh Valley, starting 4 freshman and 2 new transfer students, was lead by freshman Ebony Sanders with a game-high 14 kills and 3 blocks. Sophomore Kayla Wirth had a game-high 5 service aces and 13 digs. Freshman Shellbie Yard contributed with a team-high 12 assists and 5 kills. 

Lehigh Valley will play their next match on Saturday, September 10 at Lehigh Carbon Community College starting at Noon.
