Women's Basketball Win Streak Snapped, Falls in Overtime to PSU Schuylkill, 69-64

SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (January 18, 2023) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team had their 11 game win streak and conference unbeaten record snapped in overtime by visiting Penn State Schuylkill, 69-64, Wednesday evening at Lehigh Carbon Community College. With the loss, the team drops to 13-3 overall and 9-1 in PSUAC. 

Lehigh Valley was down early and could not find their groove in the 1st quarter being down 20-9. The 2nd quarter the momentum shifted and Lehigh Valley was able to outscore Schuylkill 21-12 being down 2 going into halftime. Lehigh Valley continued controling the pace and tempo going into the 4th up 8, 50-42. The 4th quarter favored Schuylkill as a Lehigh Valley 5 point lead with 2:30 left got erased. Lehigh Valley had a chance to win the game with 13 seconds left but never got a shot off to send the game into overtime. Schuylkill outscored Lehigh Valley 9-4 in overtime for the win.

Lehigh Valley was paced by Jah'nel Oliver with 14 points, Raynah Young with 12 points, Chanelle Lee with a double-double 11 points and 12 rebounds and Nia Newman chipped in with 10 points.

Lehigh Valley will look to bounce back when they travel to Penn State Scranton this Saturday for a 1 PM tip-off.
