GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA (Nov. 13, 2021) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team dropped its first game of the season to a fast paced Gwynedd Mercy University team, 109-99, Friday night in the 1st Round of the Gwynedd Mercy University Tip-Off Tournament. 

The Lions led after a high scoring 1st quarter 24-23 and going into halftime 46-44 but Gwynedd came out in the 3rd outscoring the Lions 31-22, they would hold the biggest lead of 13 with 8:13 left in the 4th but the Lions would answer back and cut it within 4 points but it would not be enough as Gwynedd took the non-conference win. Lehigh Valley had thirteen players get into the scoring column led by Freshman Raynah Young with 14 points. Freshman Chanelle Lee added 12 points and Sophomore Samantha Columna chipped in with 10 points. 

Lehigh Valley returns to the Griffin Complex tomorrow, Saturday, November 12, for a 12:00 p.m. consolation game versus Salisbury University.
