Women's Basketball Goes 1-1 at Cairn University Tip-Off Classic

LANGHORNE, PA (Nov. 15 & 16) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team split 1-1 in the Cairn University Tip-Off Classic in Langhorne, Friday evening & Saturday afternoon. In the opening game against NCAA Division III, Rutgers Camden, Lehigh Valley fell to the Scarlet Raptors 63-44. Ebony Sanders led the way for Lehigh Valley recording a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jah'nel Oliver chipped in with 14 points.

In the Saturday afternoon game against NCAA Division III opponent, Geneva College, Lehigh Valley would be down as many as 20 points in the 3rd quarter to rally back to win the game in overtime, 96-91. Lehigh Valley was down 5 points with 26 seconds left. A Kristin Curry steal and lay-up would cut the deficit. Gretta Bankes went to the free throw line to tie the game with seconds left to send it into overtime. Lehigh Valley would outscore Geneva 10-5 in overtime to record the hard fought victory. Five players were in double figures led by Ebony Sanders with 25 points and 24 rebounds. Jah'nel Oliver added 17 points and 4 steals. Anaya White chipped in with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Gretta Bankes recorded 13 points and 5 steals. Kristin Curry added 11 points. 

Lehigh Valley will open with PSUAC play this Tuesday when they face PSU Wilkes Barre at 6 PM at Cedar Crest College.
