Women's Basketball Wins 17 Straight on Senior Night, Flies By PSU York, 94-46

CENTER VALLEY, PA (Feb. 6, 2019) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team won its 17th straight game flying by visiting PSU York, 94-46, Wednesday evening at DeSales University on senior night.  Kion Andrews led the way with 17 points. Junior Ebony Sanders had yet another double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Jah'nel Oliver added 15 points and lone senior Gia Erie had a season-high 11 points.

The Athletics Department honored lone Women's Basketball senior Gia Erie in between games. Gia has been an intricate member of the women's basketball program for 4 seasons, compiling a win-loss total of 71 wins and 20 losses thus far. Gia has started in 71 of 85 games in a PSULV jersey. Erie compiled 596 points & 583 rebounds thus far in her career and has one of the highest FG shooting % on the team shooting 43% from the floor. In each of Gia's seasons, the team has qualified for the PSUAC playoffs including an appearance in the PSUAC Championship game in her junior season and the USCAA Div. 2 National Runners Up in her sophomore season. Erie was named PSUAC All-Academic two times. Gia will graduate from Penn State with a degree in Rehab & Human Services and hopes to pursue a career in social work and working with children who have disabilities after graduation.  Gia is a graduate of Freedom High School and from Bethlehem, PA.

Lehigh Valley will be on a 3 game road game stretch the next week as they travel to PSU Wilkes Barre on Sunday, February 10th for a 1 PM tip-off.
