ALLENTOWN, PA (Jan. 16, 2017) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team hosted a special guest coach, PSULV Chancellor Dr. Tina Richardson, Monday evening in a 85-35 victory over visiting PSUAC opponent PSU Scranton. With the win, Lehigh Valley improves to 11-2 overall and 6-0 in PSUAC play.
This was the first time that a PSULV Chancellor served as a guest coach. Dr. Richardson gave an inspirational pep talk to the team before the game, sat on the bench during the game and gave a few pointers at halftime. Lehigh Valley jumped out to a 42-10 halftime lead and never looked back.
Andrea Watkins led Lehigh Valley with 25 points including being a perfect 11-11 from the foul line. Ebony Sanders had a monster double double recording 15 points and 17 rebounds. Ashley Gordon chipped in with 11 points.
Lehigh Valley will travel out west this weekend when they take on PSU Greater Allegheny on Friday at 6 PM and then travel to undefeated PSU Beaver on Saturday for a 1 PM tip-off.
