Women's Basketball Downs PSU Mont Alto, 96-50, On Historic Night

ALLENTOWN, PA (Dec. 6, 2016) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team won its 6th straight game defeating visiting PSU Mont Alto, 96-50, Tuesday evening at Cedar Crest College on a historic night for PSULV Athletics.

Senior Ashley Gordon scored her 1,000 career point in the 2nd quarter to become the first ever male or female basketball player to hit the 1,000 point milestone. Lehigh Valley never looked back after that moment holding a 53-30 halftime lead. Lehigh Valley turned up the defensive intensity in the 2nd half holding Mont Alto to 20 second half points, cruising to a 96-50 win to remain undefeated in the PSUAC improving to 3-0 in conference and 6-0 overall.

Gordon led Lehigh Valley with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Junior Hannah Bankes shot 5-12 from 3 point range to chip in with 20 points. Freshman Ebony Sanders recorded a double double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Sophomore Gia Erie recorded a double double of her own with 11 points and 16 rebounds. Junior Kereece Seuren chipped in with 10 points. 

Lehigh Valley will have one more conference game before the 1st semester comes to an end when they travel to PSU Wilkes Barre on Friday night.
