Four Basketball Players Receive National Honors

CENTER VALLEY, PA (March 2, 2016) - Four Penn State Lehigh Valley basketball players have been recongized nationally by the USCAA (Unites States Collegiate Athletic Association) for their hardwork on and off the court this season.

Men's Basketball senior Tyler Krchnavi was named to the National All-Academic team. National All-Academic team honors are awarded to student-athletes of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.5 GPA. This is the first honor for any Penn State Lehigh Valley basketball player to receive. Krchnavi has started in every game for Lehigh Valley this season, compiling over 150 points and leading the team in rebounding. Tyler will graduate Penn State in May with a degree in business management.

Three women's basketball gained national honors for their achievements this season.

Sophomore Andrea Watkins gained 1st Team All-American honors aftering averaging 19.4 points per game this season. Watkins was named PSUAC Co-Player of the Year and PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference. Watkins received 2nd Team All-American honors last year as a freshman. 

Sophomore Hannah Bankes gained 2nd Team All-American honors after averaging 18.8 points per game this season. Bankes was named PSUAC 2nd Team All-Conference. This was Bankes first season playing for Lehigh Valley.

Junior Ashley Gordon gained Honorable Mention All-American honors after averaging 15 points per game this season. Gordon was named PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference. Gordon will be one of 2 seniors next season for Lehigh Valley.

The Women's Basketball team finished 17-7 and was the #3 seed in the PSUAC tournament.
