Women's Basketball Downs PSU Greater Allegheny, 93-78

ALLENTOWN, PA (February 1, 2016) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball defeated visiting Penn State Greater Allegheny, 93-78, in a PSUAC make-up game Monday afternoon at Cedar Crest College. Lehigh Valley improves to 11-5 overall and 8-2 in conference. With 4 conference games remaining, Lehigh Valley is looking to secure a home playoff game for the PSUAC playoffs starting on February 17th.

Lehigh Valley held a 49-31 halftime lead from the help of a 31-14 2nd quarter effort. Greater Allegheny rallied back behind the sharpshooting of Mandi Johnston to cut the deficit to 13 points but Lehigh Valley would make the final run and close the game winning by 15 points. 

Four players scored in double digits for Lehigh Valley, ophomore Hannah Bankes led with 26 points, shooting 4 for 8 from three. Junior Ashley Gordon was just shy of a triple double,  recorded 24 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Sophomore Andrea Watkins contributed with 20 points and freshman Gia Erie chipped in with 10 points. Freshman Lizzy Leiby had a team-high 13 rebounds.

Lehigh Valley wont have much rest as they travel to Spooky Nook Sports Complex to take on Penn State York Tuesday for a 6 PM tip-off, followed by the Men at 8 PM.
