Women's Basketball Picks Up Road Win at PSU Wilkes Barres, 73-66

WILKES BARRE, PA (Jan. 26, 2016) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley rallied back from being down 6 points in the 4th quarter to beat Penn State Wilkes Barre, 73-66, Tuesday night in Wilkes Barre. Lehigh Valley improves to 10-4 overall and 7-1 in PSUAC action. 

Lehigh Valley opened the first quarter with a 20-15 lead. Wilkes Barre would rally in the 2nd to make it a 2 points halftime with Lehigh Valley leading, 32-30.  Wilkes Barre took the lead in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes left but two big 3 point shots from sophomore Hannah Bankes and free throws from junior Ashley Gordon sealed the win for Lehigh Valley.

Sophomore Andrea Watkins lead Lehigh Valley with 20 points. Bankes contributed 15 points. Gordon a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. 

Lehigh Valley stands in 2nd place in the PSUAC standings with five crucial PSUAC games remaining. They will host #1 Penn State Hazleton this Saturday, January 30th at Stabler Arena for a women's and men's doubleheader. Women will tip-off at 5 PM, followed by men at 7 PM.  Attendees will enjoy giveaways and contests at the game!
