SUMMERDALE, PA (January 7, 2015) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team won their 4th straight game defeating host Central Penn College, 75-56, Thursday night in Summerdale. The win improves Lehigh Valley to 6-3 on the season.

Four players scored in double digits for Lehigh Valley. Sophomore Hannah Bankes had another stellar showing leading the Lions with 17 points.  Junior Ashley Gordon recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore Andrea Watkins chipped in with 14 points. Freshman Lizzy Leiby added 11 points.  

Central Penn shot over 50% from the field in the first quarter trailing Lehigh Valley, 23-19.  The Lions went on a 14-2 run in the second quarter and held Central Penn to 5 points to take a haltime lead of 41-24. Lehigh Valley would not trail the remainder of the game.

Lehigh Valley will begin an eleven game conference schedule beginning this Tuesday, January 12th when they travel to Penn State Mont Alto for a 6 PM tip-off. The women currently sit in 2nd place in the PSUAC standings.
