Women's Basketball Falls At Division II Kutztown University

KUTZTOWN, PA (Nov. 28, 2015) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball team dropped a non-conference match-up to NCAA Division II opponent Kutztown University, 97-59, Saturday afternoon inside the Keystone Arena.

Kutztown struggled at the onset of the first quarter, falling behind the Nittany Lions 7-6 in the first five minutes of play, the Golden Bears went on a 12-1 run to end the 1st quarter leading 18-10. The Golden Bears opened the second quarter on a 16-0 run and ended the half leading 53-25.  The Lions battled in the 2nd half; but were outscored 23-13 in the 3rd and tying Kutztown 21 a piece in the 4th quarter. 

Penn State Lehigh Valley (2-3, 0-0 PSUAC) had four players score in double-figures. Freshman Llaci Henry had a team-high 13 points and four steals. Junior Ashley Gordon had 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore Andrea Watkins recorded 10 points and six assists, while Nicole Amann contributed 11 points off the bench.

Penn State Lehigh Valley will host their first conference home game of the season against Penn State York this Tuesday, December 1st that is part of a Men's and Women's doubleheader at Cedar Crest College with the Women tipping off at 6 PM and the Men tipping off at 8 PM.  All fans coming to the game will have a chance to win Penn State Lehigh Valley Athletics gear that will be part of a fan raffle drawing at halftime of both games.
