Men's Soccer Falls in Season Opener at Bryn Athyn 5-1. Bobby Shoemaker Scores for LV

BRYN ATHYN, PA (Sept. 13, 2018) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Men's Soccer team dropped their season opener and first ever intercollegiate contest against host NCAA Division 3 Bryn Athyn College, 5-1, Thursday night in Bryn Athyn. 

Bobby Shoemaker got Penn State Lehigh Valley on the board at 73:22 on a loose ball in the Bryn Athyn penalty area and snuck the ball inside the right post. Trevor Rockwell finished with five saves in the first half, while Nick Miller had three saves during the second half.

Bryn Athyn outshot Penn State Lehigh Valley 18-12 and had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Lehigh Valley will have one more non-conference match-up before PSUAC competition starts. The Lions will travel to Manor College on Saturday, Sept. 15 for a 12 PM kick-off.
