Jeremiah Jenkins Hits Game Winning 3 to Lead Men's Basketball to Thrilling Win Over PSU York, 65-64

CENTER VALLEY, PA (Feb. 6, 2019) - With 4.4 seconds left in the game, freshman Maihan Ramin found senior Jeremiah Jenkins in the corner and Jenkins splashed a 3 pointer to give the Penn State Lehigh Valley Men's Basketball team a 1 point lead, 65-64, over visiting PSU York Wednesday evening at DeSales University. York would have the last possession but sophomore Lewis Hargett would steal the ball and give PSULV their 6th win of the season and 5-9 overall in the PSUAC. 

Lehigh Valley was down 27-17 at the half, good defensive intensity sparked a 48-37 2nd half for PSULV. Jenkins led the way with 23 points and sophomore Eric Johnson added 16 points. The Athletics Department honored 3 Men's Basketball seniors, Eric Gainor, James Middleton & Jeremiah Jenkins

Eric Gainor has been a member of the PSULV Men's Basketball program for 3 seasons, transferring in from Montgomery County Community College. Gainor has compiled a total of 182 points thus far. Gainor has started in 13 games and has been a key reserve coming off the bench for Lehigh Valley. In Eric's freshman & sophomore season, he helped the team to PSUAC conference playoff berths. Gainor was named to the PSUAC All-Academic one time. Gainor will graduate Penn State with a degree in  Rehabilitation & Human Services and hopes to play overseas after graduation. Gainor is a graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia, PA.

James Middleton has been a member of the PSULV Men's Basketball program for 2 seasons transferring in from Northampton Community College. Middleton has started 29 out of 34 games in a PSULV jersey, compiling a total of 351 points thus far and currently 2nd on the team in points per game, averaging 12.4. In Middleton's junior season, he helped his team to a spot in the PSUAC playoffs. Middleton will graduate Penn State with a degree in Rehabilitation  & Human Services.  Middleton is a graduate of Easton High School and from Easton, PA.

Jeremiah Jenkins has been a member of the PSULV Men's Basketball program for 2 seasons, transferring in from Central Carolina Community College. Jenkins who is known for his scoring ability, is currently leading the team and the PSUAC in scoring averaging at 20.9 points per game. Jenkins has compiled 652 points thus far and recently became the 2nd PSU-LV Men's Basketball player and 5th player overall to surpass the 1,000 point milestone. Jenkins has started in 37 of out of 38 games in a PSU-LV jersey. In Jenkin's junior season, he helped his team to a spot in the PSUAC playoffs. Jenkins will graduate Penn State with a degree in Psychology and hopes to work in a mental hospital after graduation. Jenkins is a graduate from Overhills High School and from Sanford, North Carolina.

Penn State Lehigh Valley goes on a 5 away game stretch starting with PSU Wilkes Barre on Sunday, February 10th at 3 PM.
