2018 PSULV Athletics Awards Luncheon Recap

CENTER VALLEY, PA (April 25, 2018) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley Athletics Department recognized the accomplishments and achievements of their intercollegiate teams on April 19 during their fifth annual awards luncheon at the Lehigh Valley campus. Golfer Evan Fahs and women's basketball and volleyball player Ebony Sanders were named Penn State Lehigh Valley Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

 "We're really proud of our team and what they have accomplished throughout the 2017-18 year, and how they've competed on the field and court, while excelling in the classroom." said Lorie Khalil, head women's basketball coach and coordinator of athletic programs at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Below are the achievements of each program for the 2017-18 season.

Men's Golf 
Head Coach: Brian Exton

Individual Accomplishments

  • Evan Fahs: USCAA 1st Team All-American, PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference, PSUAC Championship Medalist.
  • Nick Engleman: USCAA 1st Team All-American, USCAA National All-Academic (3.5 or higher GPA)

Academic All-Conference (students must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher)

Nick Engelman, Brian Zinman, Evan Fahs, Liam Ross, Jared Neders and Jacob Danko

Women's Volleyball
Head Coach: Joanie Guman-Troutman
Assistant Coach: Sarah Pasetsky

Team Accomplishments

  • 12-11 Overall Record, 8-8 PSUAC Record
  • Qualified for PSUAC Playoffs As The #6 Seed

Individual Accomplishments

  • Ebony Sanders: PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference.
  • Tori Urbas: PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference.
  • Bryce Kollar: John Fritz Sportsmanship Award.

Academic All-Conference (students must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher)

Women's Basketball

Team Accomplishments

  • 16-7 Overall Record, 13-2 PSUAC Record
  • PSUAC Tournament Runners Up

Individual Accomplishments

  • Ebony Sanders: USCAA 2nd Team All-American, USCAA National All-Academic, PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference, PSUAC Defensive Player of the Year.
  • Andrea Watkins: USCAA 2nd Team All-American, PSUAC 2nd Team All-Conference.
  • Hannah Bankes: PSUAC 2nd Team All-Conference, USCAA National All-Academic Team (students with 3.5 GPA or higher), fourth player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
  • Myasia Taylor: USCAA National All-Academic Team.
  • Makayla Brown-Paul: John Fritz Sportsmanship Award.

Academic All-Conference (students must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher - BASED on SPRING 2017 GPA)

  • Jonathan Buie: USCAA Honorable Mention All-American, PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference, PSUAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
  • AJ Molettiere: USCAA National All-Academic, John Fritz Sportsmanship Award.

Academic All-Conference (students must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher - BASED on SPRING 2017 GPA)
